Announcements West Ridge SDA Fellowship November 25, 2006

  • The Family Life Seminars conclude on Sabbath November 25, 2006.
    • 11:00 AM - Six Secrets of Financial Success
    • 6:30 PM - Two Mother's, One Baby: Parenting Styles & Nurture and Accountability
    • 7:30 PM - Happy Families Forever
  • Men's Bible Study - Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30 pm @ Melashenko's (38 Tuscany Ravine Manor NW, 208-3751).
  • Women's Bible Study - Thursday, November 30 at 7:30 pm (location to be determined, Contact Jolene at 208-2236).
  • A special Christmas program is being planned for Sabbath December 9, 2006. Please contact Heather (241-9249 or phwright@shaw.ca) if you have a story or song you can share during the service.
  • ADRA Christmas satchels - Small satchels will be available to place donations for ADRA Canada. These will be hung on the Christmas tree during the Christmas program on December 9 and the funds will be used by ADRA Canada.
  • West Ridge Christmas Party: To be held on December 9, 2006 at 6 pm. It will be a progressive party at 3-4 homes in the Tuscany area. Please sign up if you are interested in being a host or guest. Menu information will be available in the next few weeks.
  • Christmas Food Hampers: We are planning on providing 2 food hampers to seniors at the Kerby Centre this Christmas. These need to be completed by early December. Some possible items to include are: Motts Fruitsations, Del Monte fruit cups, pudding cups, canned salmon, tuna, hams, Puritan Stews, Flakes of ham, chicken, or turkey, Spam, Cheese, crackers, potatoes (scalloped, au gratin, mashed), packaged gravy, juice boxes, cookies, Fruit cake without icing, Werthers candies, Christmas cookies, nuts, Candy canes, jams & jellies, Kleenex pocket packs, Christmas napkins, hot chocolate, specialty teas, Lipton Sidekicks, etc. Please see Dawn for more information.
  • The 2007 Devotional books are available to order through the church at special rates. The following devotionals are available: Adult (Jesus: A Heart Full of Grace by William G. Johnsson), Evening (Sons and Daughters of God by Ellen G. White), Women's (Morning Praise by Ardis Stenbakken, editor), Young Adult (Things They Never Taught Me by Tompaul Wheeler), Teen (Solutions by Falvo M. Fowler), Junior (Where in the World? by Helen Lee Robinson), Primary (Hiking With Jesus by James Feldbush), and Preschool (My Best Friend Jesus by Cheryl Lynn Woolsey).   • Chinook Winds Adventist Academy
    • Items are being collected for the upcoming Mission trip which starts on December 12, 2006. If you have any of the following items to donate, please call the school office (286-5686) to arrange for pick up. Items needed are: clothing for children and adults (must be in good condition and only new underwear or socks), school supplies such as pencils, pens, markers, crayons, stickers etc, and small toys and candies.
    • Donations are being collected for a new gym floor in the school. All funds donated from now until the end of January 2007 will be matched "dollar for dollar" by the school board. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more. Parent Council is fundraising for money to help with this project. They are selling poinsettia plants (red, pink or white) for $12 each. The deadline for orders is Wednesday, November 29, 2006.
    • Band and Choir students are fundraising for the music department by selling 3 lb pails of frozen cookie dough for $10 each. The deadline for these orders is Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Please call the school office to place your order.
    • The school Christmas concert is Thursday, December 7 at 7 pm. Come out and enjoy the season's music and our student's talents.

Announcements West Ridge SDA Fellowship November 18, 2006

  4. All are invited to attend a powerful time of preaching and singing as Elder Michael Maponga, a renowned Seventh-day Adventist preacher from Zimbabwe, shares the Word of God the weekend of November 24-25, 2006. You will also enjoy a wide variety of a cappella praise and worship which will be provided by different African groups. Bring your family and friends from November 24-25, 2006 starting at 5 pm.   5. Chinook Winds Adventist Academy
    The Citrus fruit orders are expected to arrive late on Nov 18 and orders will be available for pick up on Sunday, Nov 19th from 10am to 2pm at the school. Please call the school to confirm that orders have arrived.

    CWAA is asking for donations to raise funds for installing a new gym floor in our school. All funds donated towards this cause from now until the end of January/07 will be matched "dollar for dollar" by the school board. Please consider giving towards this as now is the time to take advantage of this offer and "double-up" your donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more. The Parent Council is fundraising for money to help with this project. They are selling premium poinsettia plants for $12 each. They come in red, pink or white. The deadline for placing your order is Monday, Nov 20th. Our Band and Choir students are fundraising for the music department by selling 3lb pails of frozen cookie dough for $10 each. The deadline for these orders is Wed, Nov 29th. Please call the school office to place your orders.

    Mission students are collecting items to take on their mission trip to Jamaica next month (Dec 12). If you have any of the following items to donate please call the school office and we will make arrangements for pick up (Clothing in good condition for children and adults (only new underwear or socks), school supplies such as pencils, pens, markers, crayons, stickers, etc., small toys and candies).

    The students enjoyed a free pancake breakfast when they arrived at school this past Thursday morning, compliments of our Parent Council and the Student Association. We want to thank all of the families who donated towards our food bank drive for the Veterans.
  6. For church service on Sabbath, December 9 we are planning a Christmas program. Please let Heather know if you have special music, a story or song you can share during the service.
